This machine is a high speed twist wrapping machine for wrapping hard boiled confectionery. It was manufactured in the mid 1960’s. We stripped it, modified it and re built it for a customers specific product. It has an automatic feeder on it and individually wraps sweets at the rate of 500 pieces per minute.

This photograph shows the control centre of a robotic machine. The green tubes are compressed air lines, each one operated by a valve to activate movement which is controlled by computer. We designed and built the machine to manufacture Christmas Crackers for a client.

We were commissioned to design this machine for manufacturing the insulation tube fitted inside medical scanning machinery. Up until we developed this equipment, the large GRP drums were formed around a wooden mould by hand. This machine automatically winds the drum and allows it to set while it rotates in order to achieve uniform strength.

This is a close up of part of a ‘Tuc Biscuit ‘ line. It had been de commissioned and left wrapped in polythene for 2 years. The salts from the biscuits badly corroded the components as it sweated under the polythene. We stripped it, overhauled it modified it for the client and re built it.

The machine shown on the left is an extremely old device for moulding boiled sweets. Its cast iron frame was cracked and broken, not to mention the poor condition of its internal working parts. It was too badly worn and damaged to be repaired. New off the shelf equipment would have meant massive upheaval of the production line. Our solution was to replicate the original machine using modern techniques. The photograph on the right shows the replacement machine that we manufactured working in place of the old one. The customer has noticed a 20% increase in production capacity since our machine was commissioned.
